About the Author
Frank Riley was Professor of Ceramic Processing (and is now Professor Emeritus) at the University of Leeds where he researched and taught for over 30 years. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. He has directed two NATO Advanced Study Institutes, is editor of several conferences proceedings, and has authored many research publications and review articles.

Excellent reading

This book expose clearly essentiels about structural ceramics. It gives a systematic description on each ceramic family, short fundamentals on phases transformation and sintering processes, chemical and physical proprieties. It describes clearly the historical development of structural ceramics, their present uses and their technical limits. It contains many physical and chemical proprieties usefull to material selection and a wide references list to complete the reading. It is highly recommanded for scientists involved with material selection.
