Great resource!

These cards are beautifully and intelligently designed. They are sorted into chapters by systems, which makes for logical progression between cards. Each is numbered, printed on sturdy stock, with a hole in the upper left corner for use with ring that comes with the box.
On the front of the card, an illustration of the mechanism of the relevant system is listed, but--worry not--it is not until the back of the card where the exact location of where the drug intervenes with the mechanism is revealed, allowing you to quiz yourself. The most relevant details - Absorption/Distribution/Elimination, Clinical use, and Adverse Effects are also listed on the back.
Unlike similar card sets, this comes with an index (!) which is very useful if you are looking for a specific drug and are not sure which chapter to search. This has been very useful for memorizing pharmacology for my medical school classes, and I plan on using it a lot to study for the USMLE Step 1.

Beautiful high quality pharm cards

I bought these cards for Year 2 and Step 1 board review. They have most of the relevant material and are super high quality. I love how they are broken into organ systems! A few issues: You can'tf write or highlight because the ink will not absorb. This is pretty annoying. I'm having to use wite-out tape before I write and am laying them everywhere once highlighted so they will dry without rubbing off on everything. Also, they aren't from America, so some of the drugs are different than what we use in the states. Weird spellings are also present throughout, i.e. diarrhoea, centre. Not a big deal, but some might want to know. Too, most of the antibacterials don't actually name the specific enzyme that is blocked, i.e. amoxicillin: "inhibits the enzyme that cross-links the peptide chain." They should just put transpeptidase. The cards are beautiful, and I love the illustrations.

A great tool for studying

I purchased these cards to help me study for my pharmacology class. This set contained many of the specific cards that I needed. Drugs change everyday, so there will be a few that are not in this set. They are set up so that you can use them to study, but they are also a great reference tool. I can take the needed cards with me and use them along with a drug guide book.
